Hi Maggie, it’s me again, I hope you aren’t sick of me yet.

I remember the moment I saw my ex’s face the first time after he left. He had demanded that he get his hockey skates back as all his stuff was still in the house. I gave them to my son and because he didn’t want to walk to the parking lot alone, I followed behind. I was about 20 feet away when he gave them to my ex. His eyes met mine for a brief second but that was enough to give me nightmares of him attacking me. I woke up in a sweat, terrified. The first time I faced him in court, I could barely speak. He has been gone for six months now and my blood pressure still rises when I see a red truck. I hate how power he still has over me and my emotions. In time, I hope it gets better.
