I enjoyed this article and I will be showing it to one of the math teachers I work with. I am a student support worker that switched from elementary school to help in mainstream high school.
When I entered into math 8 last term, it was my first time helping with high school math since I was in high school in the late 80s. I had to relearn certain concepts and the new way it was taught.
This term, I was assigned to help a student in grade 9 and only had 15 minutes with him. I asked to switch my schedule to be in class with him as well. I think it’s going to take me a couple of terms for everything to feel natural.
I am grateful that I haven’t been assigned calculus yet.
I like how you explained the equation.
